Class 24

Class 24

The Class 24 was the vanguard of the British Rail Modernisation Plan. Introduced in 1958, these 1,160hp Sulzer-powered locomotives were designed to replace the hardworking steam engines of the mid-20th century. From the North Wales Coast to the highlands of Scotland, the "24s" were the versatile foundation of the early diesel era. Our model captures the classic "flat-front" aesthetic and compact power that made these locomotives a national staple for decades.
