Excellent, direct fit to the Heljan O gauge, only fitted a couple at the moment but bought enough to do 3 rakes of 8 coaches and some for the loco’s too. For me a lot easier to use.
Bit of an update to a previous review. Have now
run this excellent model on my improved but still attrocious trackwork and miracle of miracles it runs in 2nd and 3rd radius curves without issue. Something that my equally lovely Accurascale 37s have failed thus far to do without a hop skip and a jump. I putbthis down to less stiff bogies and a certain degree of slackness in the drive and gauging. But it works beautifully smooth and the sound file is excellent . Cant see upgrading speakers is a requirement for me. Now a very very happy customer. Might get just one more!
I was surprised and caught off-guard when the Peaks suddenly appeared on the reduced list of models. Initially I did not take action but relented before nearly all had sold out. After all, my blue Mainline Peak dates from over 4 decades ago.
The model I opted for arrived quickly and seems to be very good. During running in it did developed a slight wheel noise as it went around bends. I lubricated the front and rear bogie axles and, after further running, the noise now seems to have gone away. I have noticed that the central lights sometimes flicker on momentarily when the model crosses a point but this is very minor. They work fine when the model is running forwards with the same lights at the front.
My first one had damaged corner glazing, Heljan replaced it but that had identical damage suggesting a factory assembly issue perhaps. The third one was perfect. The model looks spot-on to photos and has really fine detailing all round and inside. Very smooth runner, and holds the track well due to the weight of it. Not sure if the number of lights that illuminate in direction of travel (on DC) is correct though. Heljan were very good about the replacements, no quibbling and speedy service, so thank you Heljan, it's comforting to know the back up is there in event of problems.
