Detailed Description
The British Rail Class 24 diesel locomotives were built between 1958 and 1961 by the British Railways at their famous Derby Works. Designed as part of British Railways’ Modernisation Plan, they handled mixed-traffic duties across the UK. Reliable but modest in power, many later moved to secondary services before withdrawal during the late 1970s, with 97201 living on at the Railway Technical Centre, Derby.
Our Class 24 is a highly detailed O scale model of this classic British Rail Type 2 diesel. Very pleased with the loco,hasn’t run very far yet just a little on my test track.I’ll have to look up the headcodes when I open the bits bag.Very pleased with the price but disappointed that all the coaches have sold out.My previous purchase of a class 37/97 in Network Rail yellow is also lonely as all those have gone as well. On opening my latest Hornby mag I tried to purchase a Loadhaul 56 and they had all gone,JP

Fine model and beautifully decorated but, unfortunately, that shows up some shape/positioning errors - particularly around the cab-side windows & roofline - and the painted-on gangway doors are crude.
That said, I will definitely be back for the headcode box version, if it ever appears …
