This O gauge Class 73/1 electro-diesel features a plug-and-play DCC interface, new lighting features and a wide range of authentic detail variations covering the entire career of this enduringly popular Southern Region class.
These models have being designed to offer a range of authentic detail variations covering the entire career of the production batch built in 1965-67, many of which are still active on the main line network and heritage railways. These will include locomotives with or without high intensity headlights and NRN radio aerials, radio pods and optional fibreglass arc shields fitted to the bogies from the mid-1980s onwards.
These models have been fitted with ‘plug-and-play’ DCC and sound capability using ESU’s LokSound 5 XL high-power pin decoder.

Excellent detailed Model.
The Heljan Class 73 in BR large logo blue livery is a really superb model, the level of detail on the cab front, the cab interior, the underframe and the bogies is just superb, I think the best detail I have seen on a 0 gauge modern loco yet especially the etched grilles on the roof and body sides, the livery is outstanding.
Have tested this heavy weight model on my garden railway and it is a quiet, smooth running and powerfull model.
Looking forward to getting the Inter City liveried 73 soon.

It’s a magnificent model of the long lived Class 73, the BR large logo livery is applied accurately. The loco runs smoothly and responds well in DC format to the controller. Very pleased with the price and with the delivery.
Blown away by this model. A real proper model to marvel at. You can’t do that in 4mm. It lives, it has presence and I’ve got nowhere to put it… yet!
Would have been good to have a sheet of alternative window blinds, perhaps Accurascale could do this for future offerings.
