The British Railways Class 47 diesel locomotive was introduced in the early 1960s as part of Britain’s rapid shift from steam to diesel traction. Built by Brush Traction BR Crewe Works, 512 were produced, making it one of the largest locomotive classes in the United Kingdom. Designed as a mixed-traffic engine, it hauled express passenger trains, parcels, and heavy freight nationwide.
Although early engines suffered reliability problems, later modifications improved performance. Renumbered under the TOPS system in the 1970s, Class 47s became a sight on main lines and routes, remaining in service for decades with some still operating today.

O-gauge model train with "spectacular detail" and "excellent value." Customers praised the paint finish, weight, and hauling power. However, several reported shipping damage including broken buffers and loose parts. Some noted minor shape errors to cab front and need for additional packaging protection.
Unfortunately it arrived damaged but probably down to the courier not Heljan but I’m sure it would have helped with additional packaging.

Magnificent O Gauge Model with Superb Presence: The detail on this Railfreight Sector Grey Class 47 is absolutely spectacular. The paint finish is crisp, the weight gives it immense hauling power, and it looks magnificent on the tracks. A true centrepiece for any 7mm layout. Highly recommended!
Great looking class 47 and now is my second of the class in my fleet.
Pleased to see that this loco did arrive in one piece with no damage, unlike my dutch livery class 47, however slight small red/orange stains to one side of body, so will have to disguise with weathering. Also random tiny spring loose in box ? From tension coupling maybe.
I would definitely be wanting to expand my class 47 fleet in the near future, funds pending.
I think it would be great to see this loco remanufactured in other liveries such as Intercity, Intercity Swallow, Executive Intercity, RES and Scotrail for a friend ; )

Very good, arrived with couple of loose bit but sorted. Have detailed and numbered the loco.

As the class 47 was an older model it was not fixed to a wooden plinth (like newer models)
So unfortunately arrived with a broken buffer and under frame part broken, once parts glued back on, the model looked good.
Another fine model with some excellent brake detail on the bogies (although I recommend tiny blobs of super-glue on the return springs if you want to keep them!).
Only let down slightly by shape errors to the cab front/window ledge. Repainting mine into banger blue so this will be addressed in due course. But what a bargain - with discount, close to OO prices so churlish to complain.
The opportunity to buy a V3 Class 47 for the price was just too much to resist, though I did try.
I am delighted with the model and the delivery was swift and without problems.
I check the Heljan www every day and will continue to purchase O Gauge models.
The change to Accurascale has been a positive change and I will continue to support the Heljan brand.

Poor from DHL....parcel left outside in the rain...model...ok...3 of the 4 screws holding the body to the chassis ...loose....3 wires on the right hand side of the pcb....loose... small part of chassis ....off....

Next day delivery was correct this time. Model needs decals. This is a perfect model for a re painting, so that's what I will do.
