The British Railways Class 47 diesel locomotive was introduced in the early 1960s as part of Britain’s rapid shift from steam to diesel traction. Built by Brush Traction BR Crewe Works, 512 were produced, making it one of the largest locomotive classes in the United Kingdom. Designed as a mixed-traffic engine, it hauled express passenger trains, parcels, and heavy freight nationwide.
Although early engines suffered reliability problems, later modifications improved performance. Renumbered under the TOPS system in the 1970s, Class 47s became a sight on main lines and routes, remaining in service for decades with some still operating today.

Customers praised this O Scale locomotive for its "fantastic detail" and "superb" appearance. The model runs smoothly on DC and is described as "sturdy" with excellent value at an "amazing price." However, one customer reported receiving a broken buffer and loose pieces requiring repair work.
This is a superb model of the class 47.

A sturdy looking engine for my collection.
Arrived super quick, looks like a 47 just got to get my numbers and arrows to finish it off. Would have given it 5 stars but on opening it had a broken buffer and a couple of small pieces that had fallen off, I've already glued the buffer back in place but it is now non springable but on the whole it's a great loco for a great price.
Superb Looking model with lots of detail and smooth running on DC.
