Detailed Description
The Class 47 is one of the most mass produced locomotives of the BR Fleet. These locomotives were designed and built between 1962 and 1968 by Brush Traction and British Rail Crewe Works. They were used all over the western region hauling passenger services and can still be seen running up and down the country with special services.
MECHANICAL
- Powerful 5-pole, twin shaft motor with two brass flywheels providing drive to both bogies
- Four axle drive with ‘floating’ middle axle for smooth riding qualities
- Diecast metal chassis block
- Precision gearboxes with gearing arranged for prototypical running speeds and haulage capability
- OO gauge finescale wheels with painted wheel faces
- Detachable coupling pockets to NEM362 standards at both ends
- Designed to operate on curves of second radius (438mm) or greater

- Original fixed or Serck radiator shutter options for No1 end roof panels

- Highly detailed and decorated cab interiors with authentic angled frames visible in cabside windows

- Separately applied metal detail parts, including handrails and etched fan grilles
- Finely detailed three-piece miniature snowploughs which attach to the underside of the chassis for a more realistic appearance

DECORATION
- Minutely researched and applied liveries on all models, based on archive photos and comments provided by acknowledged Class 47 experts
- Multiple paint applications employed on each model using colours based on original paint specifications
- Logos, numerals and text added as appropriate using multi-stage tampo printing using authentic typefaces, logos and colours
- Painted wheel faces to eliminate toy-like shiny effect of chemically blackened wheels
- Colours based on official BR and train operator paint references and painting instructions.

For me these models look the part, the the sound quality is very good and coupled with good fit, finish and running it's hard not to like them.
For the price it represents good value for money and I'm really pleased with the 47s I've added to my collection. Happy to recommend them.

This particularmpdel of a Class 47/4seemsto haveit'scabdoorstaken from a class 56. It looks very odd indeed. I worked on class 47 locomotives for 35 years,as a driver and instructor. The cab doors window bottom were in line with the cab windows. ABIT dissapointing really.
A good runner. Plenty of sound features to play with. Would recommend this model for the excellent price.

Well finished model, has it's critics regarding it's shape but to me it looks Looks like a 47, runs extremely well like the Heljan Class 26's I have, better slow crawl than most other makes, even slower than my Accurascale's diesels. Over all really pleased with it apart from the speakers which are very quiet.Would I buy another? At this price yes definitely, well worth the money
Although the shape is slightly incorrect this does not bother me as the build quality is excellent and the loco runs perfectly with good sound effects. I would have preferred the detail not to be fitted one end as I had to remove it to fit the coupling. Good value at less than £200
Great model, unfortunately my first one had a motor problem but thanks to great customer service it was replaced straight away. Could not thank them enough for a quick response.
It's a really great running loco, smooth and powerful, hasn't derailed once.
