The Class 47 is one of the most mass produced locomotives of the BR Fleet. These locomotives were designed and built between 1962 and 1968 by Brush Traction and British Rail Crewe Works. They were used all over the western region hauling passenger services and can still be seen running up and down the country with special services.

- Powerful 5-pole, twin shaft motor with two brass flywheels providing drive to both bogies

Customers praised this model locomotive for "excellent sound quality" and smooth running at a "sensible price." Most found the fit and finish impressive with "amazing sound." However, one customer reported track derailment issues with the bogie wheels on curves, and another noted NEM pocket durability concerns affecting coupling.
Yes this 47 may not be perfect but dose it look like a Duff? Yes. Dose it sound like a Duff? Yes, it's sound quality is excellent I was very impressed.
Add to that the good fit, finish and running qualities of the model with a sensible price it offers really good value.
I'm pleased I bought this model it hasn't disappointed in any way.

Have read reports about the HELJAN class 47 looking out of proportion to other makers. Have to say I’m not a rivet counter and the model looks great to me. Smooth runner and great sound for a very reasonable price, thanks heljan.
To be honest 'terrible '
Keeps jumping the track centre bogie wheels moves over on a curved set track, doesn't return then pulls the rest off when curve ends.
Won't let it beat me through! I'll work it out somehow.

Outstanding model with amazing sound. My only concern is how robust the NEM pocket is. Mine seems to have ‘drooped’ at both ends and sleeping coupled is a bit of a problem.
