Produced between 1960 and 1962, The class 45 were built as a collaboration between British Railways' Derby Works and Crewe Works and were a stable part of mainline traction on the Midland Mainline right up to 1982 when they were used for secondary services after the introduction of the HSTs.

Customers praised this O gauge locomotive for its exceptional value, with many calling it "amazing value" at current prices. The model features excellent detailing, smooth running, strong pulling power, and is DCC ready. Most praised the secure packaging and fast delivery. With these prices on O gauge models, there has never been a better time to jump into this scale as I have. This is a HUGE loco, even for this scale, and the detailing around it is amazing, and its DCC ready. Very well boxed and securely packaged. Very happy.
Lovely Peak, one problem is the tail lights are on either way. Looking at resolving l, other than that really lovely.

A very impressive locomotive in all aspects.
The locomotive packaging was very sturdy and protected the contents very well.
The class 45/1 I chose was an unnumbered example which has extra lower bodyside grilles and boiler room vent blanking plates to enable any class member to be re recreated faithfully.
The locomotive operated smoothly and powerfully on analogue and equally smoothly after fitting with a sound decoder for DCC operation.
This 0 gauge model is outstanding value at the current price which is comparable to most 00 gauge models.
Apart from a few well known shape issues which have been well documented elsewhere, this model brings a wealth of detail and operating features well worthy of any 0 gauge layout.

Item was damaged on arrival - trying to get in touch with a person to discuss this directly was impossible / lots of forms to fill- replacement did happen but a really impersonal process
