Top notch local, this has to be one of my favourite early Blue BR.
The Heljan Class 26 is a lovely model and captures the prototype very well.

Great model bargain price what’s not to love.
Really pleased with the Class 26. I model the early 1970s period, and this fits perfectly alongside my other green- and blue-diesels. It captures the look of a small Type 2 that has spent its life working rather than sitting on display.
I especially like that Heljan offer unnumbered versions, as it gives the chance to research a particular loco and add those little details that make each model unique.
At the new price point, these are becoming a fantastic value for O gauge. You still get the weight, presence, and detail that make the larger scale so appealing, but at a price that makes building up a small fleet feel much more realistic.
Looking forward to adding sound, weathering it, and turning it into a proper work-worn 1970s machine.
The Heljan 00 gauge 26 has always been one of my favourites, especially when coupled with the excellent Legomanbiffo DCC Sound (personally I still think it's Ian's best), and when the 0 gauge version became available this was simply too good to resist - simply superb
