Detailed Description
Detailed Description
In the 1950s and 60s, these 35-ton tanks were the primary method for moving bulk liquids across the UK. Whether it was high-octane spirit or heavy industrial oil, these wagons were a constant presence in mixed freight and dedicated "block" trains. Our models capture the transition from the early steam-era designs to the sleek, modern era of rail freight, making them an essential addition to any mid-century or transition-era layout.
The beauty of a tank wagon lies in its plumbing. We have meticulously recreated the distinct differences between the Class 'A' (for highly flammable spirits) and the Class 'B' (for heavy oils, often featuring heating coils). Our models feature intricate discharge valves, delicate manhole covers, and authentic wire-braced ladders. With a weighted chassis for exceptional tracking, these tanks are designed to look as good as they perform.

Brilliant waggon for a bargain price!
Runs well round the layout, couples up to other Heljan tanks, great level of detailing. Very good.
Very attractive and free rolling tank wagon.
At £13.50 as part of a bulk purchase this felt like an absolute bargain

5/5
Beautiful tank wagon, not bursting with detail, but very good.
Wagon is robust and am not afraid to handle this model and looks the part going round the layout. As for the price bargain!
The paint is crisp and have no bleed, the decals are to scale, clear and readable. I only wanted 3 of these, but if you were after building a rake then this is the cheapest way by far.
Would I recommend - yes
Would I buy again - no (only because I don’t need any more - if I did then yes).
Have I brought again - no only brought the 3 I needed.
