I've been eagerly awaiting this model having a weakness for anything a little different and the western region knew how to do "different "
I was not disappointed, the model captures the unique look and sound of the real loco well.
It ran smoothly straight from the box and the fit and finish is rendered to a high standard. The loco looks great with the western region reporting numbers and frame attached, adding to the unique look. The only thing I would of liked is a set of etched plates as i feel this would add that extra touch.
This is a great addition to my collection adding that unmistakable western sound and character.
One area I'd like to highlight that most of us overlook is the packaging. It perfectly enclose the model with ample protection without been big enough to fit an O gauge model in as well! Much better for storage, please don't change this as for me you have this aspect spot on.
Thank you to the team behind the model.
Very nice model brought up to date!
Nice model. Body detail not quite to Accurascale standard, but still good. A bit jerky to start with, but after running in runs well on DC, even better on DCC. To my ear the model sounds like a Warship, rapid acceleration just emphasis this. Best sound fitted model that I have. Too late now, but could have done with a drop in set of EM gauge axles/wheels being available.
Excellent loco, very impressed, sound file is very good, a good runner, small problem with the buffer beam steps which were broken off in the box, contacted heljan for replacement steps they offered to send another brand new loco which was great, but l decided to wait for the spare parts as soon as heljan have them, only a couple of weeks to wait, all round excellent customer service ,highly recommend.
great model
