OO Scale locomotive praised for exceptional performance and value. Customers said it "runs beautifully" with smooth, quiet operation straight from the box. Features heavy diecast chassis, excellent detailing, and factory-fitted buffer beam details. Highly regarded as "best buy this year" and "bargain" under £100. Minor issue: body very tight to chassis, making DCC decoder installation difficult.

This Model looks and runs great - and for such a low price it‘s an incredible deal

Yet another stonking good deal on the 33s. I had enough already, but now it seems I have two more from the Heljan site. This one arrived with its TTG buddy class 47.

Looks exactly as I'd expect a class 33 to look. Runs very well in both directions. The directional forward lighting works well both ways on DC.
Nothing fallen off in transit.
BUT - please Heljan pack these better for postage. The locomotive boxes were loose, and free to move about in a large cardboard carton. The result is a damaged Heljan box and cover which a small amount of care (wrap in bubble wrap perhaps) could have prevented. (2 damaged boxes in this order)

I already have 2 class 33s; an 8 pin 33/0 and a later 21 pin slim Jim. The weight and smooth quiet running of these 2 impressed me and so when a new green 33 came out, but w/o a small yellow panel, I hesitated. However, when the price was reduced, I couldn't resist. All sold out now, so I'm glad I acted when I did. Not disappointed with this model. Just as good as the others, heavy and smooth running straight from the box plus no bits fell off! A lot better than the class 25s, in my opinion. Very pleased.

One of Heljans better designs. Smooth and quiet runner.

Nicely balanced loco with sufficient weight to ensure it will shift a load and not be losing contact with the rails. Excellent finish and especially like the factory fitting of the buffer beam details, saves a fiddly job and is very neatly done. Happy to recommend and will buy again, well done Heljan.

My second 33 to enter traffic. Runs well and is strong

What do I think of it? I think it's lovely! Solid and weighty, plenty of traction. On Dc or DCC, runs beautifully slowly and steadily, and virtually silent.
My one dislike is that the body id too tightly fitted to the chassis. In my efforst to get the two apart, in order to fit a DCC decoder, using wedges along both bodysides, it still took some carefully-applied force to get the body off. The tightness appears to be at the ends, and when it finally gave in, the light guides within the front and rear ends flew in several directions, one breaking in the process. So one end is now unlit. OK, I can make that the trailing end, which had no tail lights in reality, so no matter. But, it really shouldn't be that difficult. dso one star down. Overall, still pretty pleased at my purchase, but it's not perfect. 'Could do better.'

I have purchased a number of the Class 26/27/33 over the years by Heljan. This latest purchase was of the latest model which has some improvements over the first releases (naturally). This latest model in BR Green looks really the part and it ran beautifully straight from the box. At the current price of less than £100 it was a bargain. Great product.

As noted elsewhere, I have several class 33s, dating back to the first releases by Heljan. All still run remarkably well- never any problem with any of them. This latest version is superb, and in today's market a real bargain.
