De britiske jernbane Class 24 diesel-lokomotiver blev bygget mellem 1958 og 1961 af British Railways i deres berømte Derby Works. Designet som en del af British Railways’ moderniseringsplan, håndterede de blandet trafikopgaver i hele Storbritannien. Pålidelige, men beskedne i kraft, flyttede mange senere til sekundære tjenester før tilbagetrækning i slutningen af 1970'erne, hvor 97201 fortsatte med at eksistere ved Railway Technical Centre, Derby.
Vores Class 24 er en meget detaljeret O-skala model af denne klassiske britiske jernbane Type 2 diesel. Med dobbelt motor svinghjulstræk, ætset gitter, retningsbestemt belysning og DCC-kompatibilitet, tilbyder den kraftfuld ydeevne og enestående realisme, hvilket gør den til et imponerende supplement til enhver O-gauge modeljernbane.

Customers praised this BR locomotive model for its exceptional detail, smooth operation, and "excellent" paintwork. A fitting member of the Heljan stable. Powerful hauling 4 heavy coaches up a 1 in 60 gradient, visually convincing and executed with excellence.
Beautiful and detailed workmanship, perfect paintwork and smooth and quiet operation. Overall I am very satisfied with the model and can recommend it to everyone.
A great model of the BR class 24 locomotive which runs very smoothly. I just wish it had a built in sound decoder as an option
A lovely model 😍🤗👍, wasn't able to afford one, when they 1st came out 🙄😢, but @ that sensible price of, £299.00,would've been foolish not to 🙄🤗.

This is not my first Heljan O-gauge loco but it's the first ordered direct following the takeover by Accurascale. I thought the price was absolutely outstanding, especially with the 10% discount for having signed up for emails, which is what alerted me to the availability of the loco.
The loco arrived quickly and undamaged. Oddly, a bolt which secures one of the bogie assemblies was loose in the box. I say oddly, as it was certainly a tight fit putting it back in the obvious place so I don't think it came loose in transit, I suspect it was not properly inserted at the factory and had got through QC. Anyway, it was a simple fix.
The loco runs perfectly, smoothly and quietly down to very low speeds as I expect from a Heljan loco. I really do like the way they run. Detailing on the model is excellent and fine, although the optional detailing parts are a faff to fit as they are so small. I'm not sure why something like lamp brackets can't be factory fitted as they were not prototypically 'optional'.
The only thing I would have liked better would have been a weathered option on this colour scheme, as I will need to get the loco weathered myself. However, bearing in mind the price I'm happy to stand that extra expense.
Altogether, a happy customer and hopefully this is the start of a new chapter in Heljan's O-gauge product range.
The 24 is a fantastic loco, thoroughly happy with the Heljan model, fantastic runner and now at a realistic price - the finish is excellent, order to delivery times great too.
The locomotive has been running very well, pulling a train of quite heavy coaches. really impressive.
The detail is absolutive and also the paint work.
Great model which captures the shape of the prototype Class 24. Nicely detailed & with excellent colour rendition.
