PROTOTYPE
Den meget efterspurgte og vidt rejste Første Generation DMU, som udgør den ideelle ledsager til andre HELJAN OO-skala modeller, herunder Klasse 25, 45 og 47.
BR Klasse 104 DMU bygget af Birmingham Railway Carriage & Wagon Co. til London Midland og North Eastern Regions. CAD-arbejdet er i gang, og billeder vil blive frigivet, så snart designarbejdet er færdigt. Denne model vil være tilgængelig i et bredt udvalg af BR-liveries, der dækker klassens levetid fra 1957 til pensioneringen af de sidste sæt i 1993.
Med 302 vogne bygget i seks forskellige vogntyper er ’104’ den største gruppe af BR dieseldrevne togvogne, som ikke findes i færdigkørt form. Den eneste tidligere RTR-model blev produceret til ’TT’-skala i slutningen af 1950’erne.
Selvom de er synonymt med Manchester-området og ruterne til Buxton og Blackpool, kørte enhederne over et stort område i det nordlige England og Midlands, og mod slutningen af deres karriere nåede de længere væk til Skotland og det sydøstlige England.
MODEL
Den nye HELJAN OO-skala Klasse 104 vil have en lavprofileret mekanisme, der driver én vogn pr. sæt, med skiftbare indvendige og udvendige lysfunktioner, en 21-polet DCC-dekodergrænseflade og mulighed for DCC-lyd. Muligheder for fabriksmonteret DCC-lyd på alle modeller undersøges og vil blive annonceret separat. Udvendige detaljer vil inkludere autentiske variationsdetaljer passende til periode og liveries, et meget detaljeret interiør og understel, separate håndlister og fjedrende støddæmpere.

Highly detailed DMU model praised for 'superb' finish and smooth, quiet operation. Customers said it 'runs beautifully' with excellent interior lighting. Some noted the inter-carriage connector is 'fiddly' and visible PCB wiring detracts from cab detail. Most found it 'a bargain' at reduced price points.
I was told this is an excellent model and they were correct. Extremely pleased with this purchase and it arrived appropriately 25 hours after I sent in the order. You cat get better service than that
As an addendum to my review a little earlier(which I do not appear to be able to edit), I have now discovered that there are two traction tyres in the bag of bits that goes with the power car. Hurray. Also, one part of Google results stated there were not traction tyres while together bits do. I think the traction tyres are if you want the model to pull several coaches rather than just the trailing coach.
I do like DMUs and green ones with yellow ends have a certain charm for me. The lucky spin offer meant I managed to get my one for £140, which seems pretty good to me in this day and age. My model appears to run well and the interior lights are good, albeit that they are dimmer if the model is going slowly.
I see that it has traction tyres (Google says it does not), which is not ideal since they will eventually need replacing.
My model encountered a brief stalling problem a few minutes into its running in period. The track did not seem to be dirty but the model has not occurred since.
Putting the two coaches together was a little fiddly but the plug socket did go in easily and the magnetic couplers met really well and positively.
Overall a good model which looks great and captures the look of the real thing. There are a few issues such as the brightly-lit circuit board and the inability to turn the front lights off on DCC while keeping the rare ones on for multiple working. The magnetic body removed works well except for the very short cable to the destination blind. My first model had a couple of faults but was very quickly replaced by the Heljan team so well done
Excellent model as expected. Had dismissed buying one of these at original RRP but became affordable at the reduced Accurascale price. Excellent complement to other available DMU models and Heljan’s own class 128.

Arrived promptly. Looks a very detailed model. Nothing loose. Lovely paint job . Not run at present . In truth wasnt looking to get a 104 but have to say it does look a treat and a bargain twice over given extra discount applied. Looking forward to seeing how this goes once ive cleared the numerous dead shorts off the layout. My only minor criticism ( also raised by others) is the visible pcb wiring in what is a well lit cab by the looks of it. However , even a modeller as poor as i am can resolve that issue.
An excellent model at this lower price point. The electrical plug to link the two vehicles together is a little fiddly but the model runs superbly and looks great in this livery
lovely model and runs well shame that the connection between the coaches is so fiddly. Would have helped if connection socket was mounted on light coloured plastic instead of black.
Lovely model, ran smoothly right out of the box and the finish was superb. I especially liked the packaging - the design of the box is particularly eye catching and a really nice way to present the model.

Good looking model. One small part of underframe loose in box. Can't locate exactly where it fits.
Overall this is an excellent model, albeit with a couple of shortcomings. A better solution is needed to hide the pcb, decoder and micro switches (particularly when the internal lighting is on), as it just lets down the otherwise superb interior detailing. Installing the inter-carriage wired connector plug to the powered (decoder) side where it has the potential, should the pins touch the ‘live’ rail, to blow the decoder exposes a poor design decision.
A beautiful model. You can hardly hear when it is running. Keep up the good work.
I've installed a Lokpilot v5 21 pin decoder and the power car runs noisily and poorly i have a new class 47 from yourselves with the same chip and it runs beautifully !!!
