PROTOTYPE
BR Klasse 104 DMU bygget af Birmingham Railway Carriage & Wagon Co. til London Midland og North Eastern Regionerne. CAD-arbejdet er i gang, og billeder vil blive frigivet, så snart designarbejdet er færdigt. Denne model vil være tilgængelig i et bredt udvalg af BR-liveries, der dækker klassens levetid fra 1957 til pensioneringen af de sidste sæt i 1993.
Med 302 vogne bygget i seks forskellige vogntyper er ’104’ den største gruppe af BR dieseldrevne togvogne, som ikke findes i færdigkørt form. Den eneste tidligere RTR-model blev produceret til ’TT’-skala i slutningen af 1950’erne.
Selvom de er synonymt med Manchester-området og ruterne til Buxton og Blackpool, kørte enhederne over et stort område i det nordlige England og Midlands, og mod slutningen af deres karriere nåede de længere væk til Skotland og det sydøstlige England.
MODEL
Den nye HELJAN OO-skala Klasse 104 vil have en lavprofileret mekanisme, der driver én vogn pr. sæt, med skiftbare indvendige og udvendige lysfunktioner, en 21-pins DCC-dekodergrænseflade og mulighed for DCC-lyd. Muligheder for fabriksmonteret DCC-lyd på alle modeller undersøges og vil blive annonceret separat. Udvendige detaljer vil inkludere autentiske variationsdetaljer passende til periode og liveries, et meget detaljeret interiør og understel, separate håndlister og fjedrende støddæmpere.

Customers praised this Class 104 DMU model for its exceptional detail, smooth running, and innovative features like magnetic couplings and body attachment. This DMU is one of the unsung heroes of the Heljan fleet. Full of innovative things like magnetic couplings and magnetic body attachment, it just does everything you would expect of a top of the range model. I love it.
This is my first DMU and I'm very impressed with it. Took a while to figure out the connections as the instructions gloss over this. But there is a notch on the connectors (covered by electrical tape) and a peg in the vestibule. Very nice running and decorated model in a lovely box.
Bought two 3 x car 104 DMU s , already had one and the 2 x car Mexican Bean very happy with all of them ,super models and great runners.
Also great service from yourselves and good communication and quick delivery .
As a query i also have lots of Heljan 00 and 0 gauge locos , the early Class 47s do you do replacement wheels as the phosphor bronze get very dirty on my dcc layout would like to replace them please did so many then when Howes were importers they dried up and rang Gaugemaster numerous times and always told out of stock , wondered if could help as a valued regular customer please ??

Having recently sold my 1980’s Hornby white and blue class 110 I decided to go for the earlier class 104.
This is a superb model, the finish is fabulous with lots of fine detail inside and out. It runs like a dream, with a fantastic smooth motor at all speeds.
What I particularly like is the way the units are connected. Looking at the photos, all l could see was a huge plug and I thought it would be unsightly. How wrong could I be, the innovative way it slips out of sight is genius, and with the magnetic couplings it runs really close around all of my track.
I’d read that a circuit board was visible on a dmu through a window. I couldn’t remember if it was this one; I had to have a good look from a very short distance to spot it and there it was. However it’s not very noticeable, even during nighttime running.
I haven’t counted exactly how many Heljan models I’ve got, there are quite a few. Every one I’ve got is absolute quality and very well engineered. Definitely one of my favourite manufacturers.
Very happy with these, a 3 car DCC ready DMU with a fantastic lighting suite is fantastic at this price. Great box too and packaging.
A nice model at a sensible price. A shame it can’t be connected to other manufacturers DMU’s as sets were often made up of different DMU types. Suffers from Heljans perennial problem of short wires connecting the chassis to the body. So easy to damage. It was only luck that the model arrived in good condition (thanks to the original Heljan box) as the outer carton was very thin and did not have nearly enough packing material inside. Something the new team need to keep an eye on as clearly there is an issue here!
Very good detail, very smooth runner. Really captures the look of these ordinary trains. Livery good. Nice box. Only improvement I would make is slightly closer magnetic couplings, which is an easy change.
Always wanted this class of DMU as I travelled a lot on these. So many memories. The model just brings it all back. Perfect quality and the price is just spot on. Thanks so much Heljan and all that help produce such fantastic products. Hope the merger of the company goes well.
Excellent model runs well. Only weakness is plug connecting cars and risk of destroying decoder if it should come into contact with live track.
Great model that looks as amazing as it runs. Just beware that the plug on the leading vehicle will destroy a decoder if it makes contact with the rail so it should really be a socket rather than a plug in future models. I love the fact that it so easy to open the model to fit drivers and passengers which is really innovative using magnets.
This is a very good product. Has an exellent coupling system between the coaches and the bodies are held on to the chassis by magnets. It runs superb and I would highly recommend it
The models are excellent and as described. The presentation is brilliant a great buy.
