BR’s standard 25kV AC elektriske lokomotiv fra slutningen af 1960'erne, udviklet ved hjælp af erfaringer fra de tidligere ‘AL1’ til ‘AL5’ klasser. En håndfuld ‘86’ er stadig i brug i dag både i Storbritannien og i udlandet. Denne seneste variant har en række forbedringer i forhold til vores tidligere Class 86, herunder separat skiftbare baglygter i DCC-tilstand. Den fokuserer på de tidligere oversete blandede trafik ‘86/4’ og godstog-‘86/6’ underklasser, der blev modificeret fra midten af 1980'erne og frem.
Modellerne leveres med enten en Faiveley (*) eller Brecknell Willis højhastigheds (+) pantograf.

OO Scale locomotive praised for excellent build quality, smooth operation, and accurate detailing. Customers said it "runs beautifully" and is a "lovely runner." Most appreciated the value for money. Minor issues noted: pantograph spring tension too strong for some catenary systems, livery inaccuracies around windscreen, and rippled glazing requiring minor adjustments.
This is my first BR AL6 Class 86 model I've bought from Heljan and I am overall impressed with the paint finish and the printing on the model. The detailing all around the engine is fabulous with its sprung Pantograph, fully detailed end buffer beams, and wire handrails, lit Character Head Codes, etc. Though there are tail light lenses on each end. I found via a quick PP4 9volt battery test the rear lighting didn't come on. Is there switches to be set internally on the PCB or does it need a decoder fitted to have them functioning. Maybe Heljan (or Accurascale) staff can inform me.

Superb value
Great model. The paint finish is superb. So is the detailed driving cab interior. I haven't tested her yet but I'm not worried as my D 1526 purchased on April 20 is a fine runner. I'm looking forward to a re-run of Clayton Cass 17 Diesel... Regards, Ph
Very pleased.Good quality build. Only thing that I think requires altering on these models is the spring tension of the pantograph. I have Peco catenary and the spring tension is too strong as it pushes the wire up too far. Have ordered new tension springs with less tension. Would have given 5 stars otherwise.
For £70 with the fruit machine offer thingy, it is great value. However the livery is not accurate around the white windscreen surrounds and the glazing is rippled. A little modelling resolved both issues. Look forward to seeing what Accurascale do with the model going forward.
I love these locos I lived on the Wesr Coast Mainline at Tamworth and remember them when built. The loco runs smoothly and the colour is correct. Good price too !!

Excellent model will be getting a few more
Models of AC Electric locomotives have come a considerable way over the past 20 years or so. This Class 86 is excellent and certainly looks the part in as-built condition. For the price, it's really hard to beat.
Quiet and smooth right out of the box. Nice paint work and good quality pantograph so can be operated without fear of it falling apart. Certainly worth considering at this price.
