De britiske jernbaner Class 58 diesel-lokomotiver blev introduceret i 1983 til tung godstransport. Bygget af British Rail Engineering Limited i Doncaster, anvendte de et modulært, bodiless design med aftagelige motor- og udstyrsplatforme for at forenkle vedligeholdelsen.
Drevet af en Ruston-Paxman RK3 motor, leverede de 3.300 hestekræfter og blev synonym med MGR kultog. Efter omorganiseringen af godstransportsektoren og ankomsten af nyere typer, blev Class 58'erne, der dengang var under EWS, taget ud af drift i 2002, hvor mange fandt nye liv i udlandet hos private operatører.

The latest edition, to my growing fleet of Heljan O gauge diesels. Runs well and has some fantastic detail.
Superb model - must be one of Heljan's best in O gauge.

Only got an end to end layout around 24 feet long but my class 58 performs with no issues at all.The detailing is very good so I’m very pleased with this model.It was a good price too.
