Bygget i 1958 blev klasse 122 dieselmotorvogne primært brugt til forstadsarbejde i London Midland-regionen, og nogle nåede endda så langt som til at køre på skotske ruter. Denne design af enkeltvognsenheder blev kaldt "Bubble Cars" af jernbaneentusiaster. I 1968 blev nogle af klasse 122 enhederne ombygget til at transportere pakker og omklassificeret til klasse 131.

Bought 2 of these 122s couldn’t miss out on that price. absolutely love them. Couple of bits broken in the bottom of the box but they can be sorted.

Nice model, well detailed.
Got to knock off one star for the packing. Unit screwed to a wooden plinth. Upon first unpacking the unit I slid the plinth onto my desk to look at it. Unfortunately domed screws protrude below the plinth and scratched my desk. After use I wanted to repack my model. You have to hold the model upside down while alinging the screws with holes in the model chassis - blind. And line up washers and a spacer tube. Near impossible! Fortunately my wife was on hand to pick up the wahers as they fell on the floor. Poor idea.
Beautiful model lots of detailing looks amazing. Not had a chance to run it yet.
