BR Klasse 02 0-4-0DH bygget af Yorkshire Engine Co. til dokshunting og godshåndtering i det nordlige England. Disse små firehjulede shuntlokomotiver blev designet til at nå de steder, hvor andre lokomotiver ikke kunne; med en akselafstand på kun 6 fod kunne de tackle skarpt buede spor i gader, dokker, lagre og fabrikker og endda bruge traditionelle vogndrejeskiver. De var en direkte erstatning for den legendariske Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway ‘Pug’ 0-4-0ST, der arbejdede på doklinjer i Liverpool, Manchester og videre.
Omkring 50 lignende lokomotiver blev bygget til industrielle jernbaner, i mange tilfælde med elektrisk fremdrift i stedet for hydraulisk. Da det arbejde, de blev bygget til, forsvandt i 1960'erne, fandt mange af de 20-strong klasse yderligere arbejde i industrien, hvor nogle overlevede godt ind i 1980'erne, før de blev reddet til bevaring. De blev højt værdsat af besætningerne for deres Rolls-Royce motor, udsyn i alle retninger og unikke (for et BR lokomotiv) bagplatform til shuntingpersonale, og de fortsætter med at spille en nyttig rolle i shunting og ingeniørarbejde på kulturarv jernbaner.
Et lokomotiv, D2860, blev endda hævdet af National Railway Museum som den perfekte shunter til sin Store Hal i York.

This O Scale locomotive shunter receives high praise for its "surprising weight," "excellent weathering," and detailed cab design. This is my third class 02, so I obviously like them…. I waited years for them to arrive and very nearly went for one of the DJH kits. This is streets ahead, especially with its modern DCC interface. All of mine are sound fitted, but an additional larger tablet speaker behind the front grille and a stay alive are essential extras. The only downside is the weak directional lighting. Recommended.

What a fantastic model this is. Very well detailed, with a fully detailed cab. The motor is very silent. It has sprung buffers and long coupling chains, making coupling easy. The wheel base is short but it runs without any problems over the Y point (which has a non wired frog) on my layout. The weathering is a bit basic but a good start to add some yourself. The loco has a very matt finish. I am so happy with it, I will probably buy another one in a different livery.

You very kindly sent a replacement 02 after the lights didn't work on my original purchase. But unfortunately the lights dont work on the replacement 02. Something tells me wherever you have these little engines built, the Quality control isn't working very well. As an enthusiastic 0 gauge builder & modeler I expect a reliable product as advertised, when paying out good money.
