Ruston 245033, built new for the Tottenham & District Gas Company, was delivered to their Tottenham Gasworks site on 2 October 1947. Liveried in the company’s distinctive ‘Panhard Red’, the locomotive was the first diesel to be used at the site and remained there until the end of coal carbonisation in March 1972, when rail traffic at the site ceased. No.12 was finally sold for scrap in 1974.

This model has been specified, designed and built to an excellent standard throughout. Detail parts look robust enough to survive normal operation on a layout, and running using analogue DC is excellent straight out of the box. And this Eastern Gas Board red is so beautiful! I do hope that Accurascale can build on the success of this model; a contemporaneous steam loco to run alongside it would be just right :-)
